The management of Farafenni Transport Control Association has extolled the Jah Oil Company for its gesture and described it important thing that will enhance the free flow of traffic in the vicinity.
Jah Oil Company has established a garage for trucks at MakaFarafenni to create a conducive environment for parking the trucks to avoid indiscriminately parking of trucks by drivers which the opening of the Senegambia Bridge has caused through increasing traffic that poses a great challenge to the transport sector in the area.
Speaking to The Voice in Farafenni, Mr. Kitim Dibba, President of the transport association lauded the Governor’s Office and Kerewan Area Council for the allocation of land for the garage.
He disclosed that before the opening of the garage for trucks, Farafenni witnessed numerous road traffic accidents due to the parking of trucks along the main highway.
He expressed joy at the prompt partnership between the association and Jah Oil Company, saying it is part of promoting the private sector in advancing PPE.
Among other facilities, he stated that the company dug a borehole, while fencing of the area was in progress together with a waiting shed, and anticipating in due course the establishment of a fuel station to make effective service delivery.
Meanwhile, the transport association installed solar security lighting and a waiting shed for drivers and customers. The place has witnessed the expansion of business for food sellers, water, and commercial motorcycle operators, and so on.
However, the association is looking for more support to develop the area to standard, citing the concreting of the floor before the rainy season. He later thanked the police command for the creation of a police checkpoint to improve road safety.
