The issue of the Belgian Moroccan citizen, Ali Aarrass, whichwas followed for a long time by the press, experienced a new twist with the media outing of the former leader of the Moroccan mujahideen movement (terrorist movement), Abderrazak Soumah, in response to statements from the publisher and activist, Luk Vervaet, about Ali Aarrass.
In a video published on You-Tube, Abderrazak Soumah, makes new revelations about his comrade in arms, Ali Aarrass. He affirms that he was part of the terroristorganization “Harakat Al Moujahidine Fi Al Maghrib” and denounces the false allegations made by Luk Vervaet which, according to him, mislead an entire Moroccan and Europeancommunity, especially when he mentions the fact that Ali Aarrass is innocent of terrorism.
According to him, “He was responsible for introducingfirearms into Morocco from Europe as part of a terroristproject which was to be carried out by our group [Harakat Al Moujahidine Fi Al Maghrib]”, he indicated.
Abderrazak Soumah notes that “there is no Ali Aarras issue. But there is a big affair, that of the Mujahideen, at the head of the Moujahidin in Morocco, to which Aléa Grasse and I belonged since 1981.
He added that Luk Vervaet is thereby clearing a professionalin arms trafficking when he witnesses that he was sitting in a cafe during his arrest in Melilla, while Soumah himself hadreceived him a shipment of pistols to Morocco to attack the truly innocent.
“Instead of defending himself, he should”, he continued, “defend the lives of all, especially that of the Belgians and the Spanish from the great risks presented by Ali Aarrass whohides in Europe the firearms that Abderrazak Soumah refusedto receive him in Morocco in 2003.
He also criticizes him for saying that Aarrass was forced to sign his court report in 2010 and who did not know how to read or write in Arabic, while he was the manager of an Arabic bookstore called “Noor » in Brussels and whoseexistence Luk testified to, unlike Aarrass who was unaware of its existence all the time.
Abderrazak Soumah revealed that when his emir sent him to Afghanistan in the 1990s, Ali Aarrass and the other brothersdid not know it. And he himself does not currently know where Ali Aarrass hides the weapons he introduced intoMorocco.
Furthermore, the former leader of the mujahideen movementin Morocco specified that those who belonged to the mujahideen movement in Morocco are still alive in the eastand north of Morocco and even a case in France which knewvery well the reality by Ali Aarrass.
Therefore, he asked himself “how can we rejoice in the compensation of Ali Aarrass of 3 million euros which will bepaid from the pockets of the citizens that Ali wanted to destabilize 20 years ago”, while , according to him, “he must reimburse his former colleagues who had provided him withfunds to open businesses in Belgium”.
According to Abderrazak Soumah, Aarrass bought thousandsof pistols that everyone does not know where they are hidden.
He also underlined, in the same video, that since Ali Aarrassdenied his proven involvement in crimes linked to terrorismand arms trafficking for which the security and judicialapparatuses of the three countries were unanimous (Morocco, Belgium and Spain), “how can we believe his lies of torture in Morocco, if we are talking about an arms trafficker, usurper and scammer who has scammed the movement’s funds and iscurrently extorting all the ‘Europe’.
Abderrazak Soumah also challenged Luk Vervaet to explain to him how Ali Aarrass is the only detainee among all the Islamists incarcerated in Morocco who was able to be receivedby Mandes in 2012 for 3 or 4 minutes and managed to convince him that he was a victim of torture and that he bore traces of violence dating back to 2010; how did the public authorities leave traces of violence on his body for 2 years, without bothering to repair them? The answer according to him is obvious, we are dealing with a real specializedscammer.
Finally, he questioned himself by saying “why not me and mybrothers in the movement who were tried at 20 years old sincewe have the same experience, quite simply because all of us voluntarily recognized the accusations and we decided to put end this misadventure and open a new page with the State and the Moroccan people except Aarrass who wants revenge.”
Arrested in Melilla on April 1, 2008, under a wanted notice dating from 2003 and transmitted to Interpol, Ali Aarrass washanded over to the Moroccan authorities in December 2010. He was then sentenced, in 2011, to 15 years in prison. A sentence reduced to 12 years, one year later by the Court of Cassation.
Free since the beginning of April 2020, after serving hissentence, Ali Aarrass returned to Belgium three months laterand began his defamation campaign against Morocco.
