As It Commends Agency for Last Month’s Rescue Operations

The Gambia Ferry Services Company (GFSC)has described the NDMA-led rescue operation along the Banjul-Barra ferry route last month as professional, courageous, swift, and instrumental in ensuring the safety of passengers and crew.
“The Management of the Gambia Ferry Services Company writes to express our sincere gratitude for the exceptional rescue operation conducted by the National Disaster Management Agency on 12 April 2024, when the Kanilai ferry was adrift at sea. The professionalism, courage, and swift action taken by the NDMA were instrumental in ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers and crew aboard,” the GFSC said in a letter of appreciation it recently sent to the executive director of the State disaster management agency Mr. Sanna Dahaba.
“The successful operation is a testament to the high level of preparedness of the NDMA personnel involved. It is reassuring to know that in times of crisis, we have dedicated institutions like the NDMA who are ready to respond with such efficiency and care,” the GFSC acknowledged.
“Please convey our sincere gratitude to NDMA personnel who played a role in the rescue. Their dedication to duty and commitment to saving lives is truly commendable and deserves the highest praise,” the company added
