Africell, the leading GSM operator in the Gambia celebrates its 24 years anniversary in grand style with a first ever drone show at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Conference Center in Kerr Sering on Wednesday 15th May.
The show also witnesses the USA independence celebration by the USA embassy in Banjul and it was graced by dignitaries from different institutions in the country and the Ambassador of America in the Gambia was also in attendance.
Hussein Diab Ghanem the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Africell in the Gambia saysafricell has always prides itself of being a Gambia story.
“Africell started here in the Gambia 24 years ago, I myself have been with the organization for the past 20 years I started as an engineer and now I’m the CEO of the company I’m a Gambian,” he said.
He added that Africell managed to grow from Africa to exporting itself in other partsof Africa and they feel that the Gambia is their home and promoting it, is a responsibility.
“This drone show is a first of its kind in the Gambia it incorporates the most cutting edge technology, we are à technology related company and so we feel that Gambia should always be given the best of the best”, he stated.
He added that some of the images from drone are about promoting the Gambia.
“Gambia is beautiful, Gambia is the smiling coast of Africa, if Gambia can produce success stories and big companies like africell I believe the sky is the limit, we as Gambians should continue promoting the Gambia and there is nothing stopping the Gambia from being the best country in West Africa”, he underscored.
Sharon L Cromer, the Ambassador of America in The Gambia who graced the show congratulates africell for hosting first ever drone show and encourages them to continue.
Packages were given in a raffle form to some lucky guests at the show in a refreshing environment.
