Man in Court For Stealing of Iron Rods

Pap Cham has appeared before Magistrate Fatou Darboe-Jaguraga of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 188 iron rods.

According to his statement of offence, he was charged with stealing contrary to section 252 of the criminal code.

The particulars of his offence stated that Pap Cham, on the 13th of May 2024 at Busumbala Village Kombo South West Coast Region stole 188 pieces of iron rods at a total sum of D65,500 thereby committing an offence.

The accused person has pleaded not guilty to the offence by denying the liability of the charge against him. 

The prosecution at this juncture sought an adjournment to enable him to present his witnesses. 

Meanwhile, the accused person was granted bail in the sum of D80,000.00 with two Gambian sureties who shall be sworn to an affidavit, while one of the sureties must be a family member. 

The matter is adjourned to the 24th June 2024 for the thehearing.
