Principal Magistrate Anna O. Mendy of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court yesterday ordered the remand in custody of a traditional healerBabucarr Jallow on the allegation of defrauding one Kaddy Jallow.
Jallow allegedly received D190,000 from Kaddy in Brikama on the pretext of making her rich but has denied wrongdoing.
He told the court on Wednesday that he neither met nor saw Kaddy at any time.
“I never promised to make anyone rich. I am a traditional healer. I use leaves and roots to treat people, not to make them rich,” he told the court.
The case resumes on June 6th, for the determination of bail.
