The Finance and Public Accounts Committee ( FPAC) of the National Assembly is awaiting the approval of the clerk of the House to schedule the date for the appearance of the Inspector General of Police(IGP) to respond to the committee’s resolutions over alleged official corrupt practices, sources close to House informed this reporter.

It could be recalled that FPAC issued resolutions on the 2019 audit findings about Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies and the committee requested the IGP to act on them within a specified time.

However, the IGP has yet to act on the committee’s resolutions despite the elapsing of the deadlines.

Sources informed this reporter that the committee was supposed to meet with the IGP over the issue last weekbut the scheduled date coincided with a public holiday.

“If those adversely mentioned in the audit reports couldnot appear before FPAC in person, the Committee will write to the IGP for them to provide a written update. As we speak, the meeting of FPAC has ended and before scheduling any meeting, the clerk of the Assembly should approve it,” FPAC Chairman AlhagieS. Darboe told The Voice.
