The Upper Badibou Constituency Development Fund under the leadership of National Assembly Member Hon. Sankung Dampha on Saturday inaugurated a bridge at Sare Galo of Upper Badibou in the North Bank Region.
The new bridge will address challenges faced by women to attend antenatal service, facilitate transportation of farm produce, school childrenand other basic social services.
Hon. Sankung Dampha National Assembly Member for Upper Badibou expressed delight and thanked the people of Upper Badibou and Upper Badibou Constituency Development Fund Committee for their invaluable support towards the implementation of the project. He disclosed that the project formed part of National Assembly Constituency Development Fund CDF of D500, 000 and it aimed at supporting NAM to work with electorates in identifying projects that could improve lives and livelihood. Upper Badibou NAM thanked Hon. Arabou Ansu Kanyi former National Assembly Member in the area and who doubled as chairperson of Constituency Development Fund for support, courage and monitoring of project, as the project was identified through consultation by the committee.
Hon. Dampha thanked the community for their contribution, noting that the bridge cost D650,000.00
Chief Mustapha Dibba of Upper Badibou alsothanked President Adama Barrow and government for providing development fund for National Assembly, noting that the move takenby Hon. Dampha promote openness and trigger community involvement and participation. He thanked the youths of Sare Galo for the support towards the implementation of the project. Chief Dibba calls on the people of Upper Badibou to put aside their political differences and support NAM and sitting councilors in the implementation of the project.
Hon. Arabou Kanyi Chairperson of the Constituency Fund hailed Hon. Dampha for being passionate about the development needs of constituency, through establishing committee to ensure transparency and accountability of fund. He described the project as important and thanked government for supporting National Assembly in strengthening and responding to the development challenges.
Chairman Papa Tunkara of Kerewan Area Council praised constant consultation with the council and noted that the intervention would complement council development efforts. He said such project address priority needs and reiterated council fullest support in providing community projects.
Chief Alagie Jagne of Central Badibou call on communities to be vigilant and take necessary measures to avoid disasters and whilst reiterate for people to promote food production as a sustainable means of attaining food and nutrition security.
