The Secretary General and Party Leader of the People’s Alliance Party, Ebrima Tabora Manneh has warned Gambians to desist from tribalism and focus on national development.

PAP Leader revealed this during an interview with the Voice. He said PAP is concerned over the situation of the country which prompted them to join the political arena. “Our party was registered in November 2022 with the aim to promote peace and end tribalism. PAP is a party that is here for all the Gambians regardless of religion,” he noted.

Mr. Manneh pointed out that his party would set mechanisms that would serve as a path to develop the country adding that everyone would see the unprecedented development in the Gambia if the citizens are ready for change.

He alleged that the resources of the country are being diverted to other countries but that would end if he is voted into power “because my government will set rules and anyone who breaks them the person will face the consequences. This country needs reform and that will only happen if we have leaders with empathy,” he said.

‘’We engage the citizens in trying to sensitize them over the current affairs of the country so that the mistake they made before can be avoided.’’

He argued that the country’s economy and security are in the hands of foreigners and that is not encouraging for a small country like Gambia stating that those foreigners are interested in making profit to boost their business.

He feels that to do certain business in the country one must be a Gambian and the business sector should be controlled. “As a party, such are the problems that PAP intends to solve and make sure that the youths are involved in the economic activities of the country. It will be difficult to be independent if you can’t feed yourself,” Manneh remarked.

According to him, PAP will create real and meaningful employment for the people and decentralize development. ‘’We are ready to make change and govern uniquely. PAP needs the assistance of the citizens to rescue the country for the future leaders,” he emphasized.
