Two members of the Cement Importers Association of The Gambia were reportedly arrested on Thursday as they protested the government’s levy increase on cement.
The association’s members thronged the National Assembly’s precincts yesterday to protest as the Gambian leader came there to deliver the State of the Nation’s Address (SONA).
The police spokesperson ASP Modou Musa Sisawo told this medium that he could not confirm the reported arrests but the cement importers association said two of their members have been picked up by the police.
