Hundreds of people attended Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Regional Convention held at Kotu

For three days, Jehovah’s Witnesses highlighted a message of hope in a world where bad news endlessly streams on social media, TV and radio!

The event was held at their Assembly Hall at Kotu from Friday the 28th to Sunday 30th of June 2024. Hundreds of people attended and listened to a program focused on only good news.

On Saturday, the baptism of candidates from surrounding communities was the key moment of the day. Another highlight of the convention’s second day was the first of a two-part prerecorded feature Bible drama entitled “The Good According to Jesus (Episode 1): The True Light of the World.” Those in attendance were delighted to watch it on Friday and Saturdaymorning. Episode 2 et 3 are due to be viewed at their next year regional conventions.

The “Declare the Good News”! convention presented Bible-based videos, discourses and interviews on topics such as…

• Why do we need Good news?

• Use the Good News to defeat Bad News.

• Why we don’t fear Bad News.

Therese Correa, who attended the three-day program and who was one of the candidates to be immersed in a baptismal pool said: “I attended several conventions in the past but this one was very special. Not only I got baptized to symbolize the personal relationship I am enjoying now with my Creator, but also the program helped me to be more optimistic regarding the future and to be convinced that the bad things that are happening today are temporary. Better days are yet to come. And this good news I want to share with others.”

Around the world, these three-day conventions are being held every week with the same contents and in different languages till the end of the year.
