International Lions Club donates football items worth over 3000 euros to Lions Cosenza Castello Svevo Gambia

The International Lions Club of Italy has recently donated some football items worth over 3000 euros to its newly established football team in The Gambia called Lions Cosenza Castello Svevo, The Gambia.

International Lions Club is an association that has its presence around the world and directs its voluntary work towards people and populations in difficulty.

The association, Lions Club Cosenza Castello Svevo in Italy, with its President Doctor Saverio Daniele has established a football team in Banjul, Gambia called Lions of ConsenzaCastello Svevo. The team is made up of 50 skillful and talented boys of different ages.

So far, Cosenza Club has begun training courses alongside these young people, which it is hoped will last for years, demonstrating its profound friendship with the African people. 

Reacting to the establishment of the team and donation, Alex Bah, a Gambian national and a native of Kanifing Housing Estate who currently lives in Italy and facilitated the whole project said as a Gambian, giving back to his country is his priority.

Daddy Jallow, the head of the football club on his part extended his deepest gratitude to Lions Club Cozenza for their incredible generosity and support, saying the donated items would make a significant impact on the football club performance. 

The head coach of the football club, Ebrima Jawo, thanked the donors for their kindness and believed the donated items would make their work easy, noting that as a football club, they can’t go without certain materials and that’s what they got from the donors. 

“Your belief in our course and your willingness to support our efforts have not gone unnoticed,” he added.

The team captain, on his part, said the donated items would make their work possible and inspire the team to continue their mission with dedication and passion.

The items included football, different sets of jerseys and so on.
