Two swimmers to Represent Gambia in Paris Olympics

Gambian swimmers Ousman Jobe and Aminata Nia – Maria Barrow will be at the 2024 Paris Olympic. 

The duo had their participation approved underthe Universality Places for Paris 2024.

Their participation was confirmed in a communique dispatched to the Gambia National Olympic Committee.

“In accordance with the Paris 2024 SwimmingQualification, we have the great pleasure to confirm the invitation under Universality Places for Paris 2024 of the following highest rankedathlete(s), representing your National Olympic Committee based upon the World AquaticsPoints Table (2024 edition) achieved by 23 June2024,” stated the communique.

Ousman Jobe qualified in Men Freestyle 50m with an entry time: 00:26.90 while Aminata Nia-Maria Barrow qualified in Women Breast stroke 100m with entry time of 01:14:32.

According to the National Olympic Committee, Aminata Nia-Maria Barrow became the first Gambian female swimmer to ever compete in the World Aquatics Swimming Championshipthat was held in Fukuoka, Japan last June. Shenow anticipates her maiden Olympic Gamesappearance.

Ousman Jobe will be looking forward to his first Olympic Games appearance.
