Mobile phone thieves face charges of stealing in court.

 Musa Bah yesterday appeared before Principal Magistrate IsatouO Njie of the Kanifing Magistrate Court for the offence of stealing a bag containing a mobile phone and a sum of D70.00.

The accused, Musa Bah standing in the dock on Wednesday 10th of July 2024 pleaded not guilty to the offence he was charged with.

Reading the particular of his offence, Musa Bah on the 3rd day of June 2024 at Senegambia in the Kanifing Municipal Council stole a bag containing a mobile phone Mark iPhone XR valued at fifteen thousand Dalasi (D15,000.00) and fiscal cash of Seventy Dalasi (D70) being the property of Fatoumatta Saidy. Thereby committed an offence against the law.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge against him, telling the court that he didn’t collect any bag from anyone.

Meanwhile, the court granted the accused bail in the sum of D15,000.00 with one Gambian surety, while the case was adjourned to the 7th of August 2024.

In a similar matter but a different sitting, Musa Conteh was also arraigned before the Kanifing Magistrate Court presided over by Principal Magistrate Isatou O Njie for stealing two Samsung mobile phones.

According to the indictment of his charge, Musa Conteh on the 07th day of June 2024 at Senegambia in the KanifingMunicipality stole two mobile phones Mark Samsung A04 valued at D5,000 and another Samsung simple phone valued (unknown) being the property of Ousman Trawally.

The accused, accused, Musa Conteh pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.

At this juncture, the prosecutor applied for an adjournment and was granted by the court while the accused was granted bail in the sum of D8,000 with two Gambian sureties who shall swear into an affidavit and one of the sureties must be a family member. The case was adjourned to 24th July 2024 at 11:30 am for hearing.
