The chairperson of the North Bank Regional Inter Party Committee (IPC) has underscored the significant contribution of ActionAid International The Gambia in promoting women in leadership positions.
The chairperson, Ngui Secka said this would contribute to the enlightening of women in leadership positions.
She stated this during a Paradise FM Radio FM in Farafenni talk show program in collaboration with Nuimi FM Radio.
She lauded the commitment of journalists, women tribunal court members, rural women’s assembly, traditional communicators, and others to the women empowerment drive.
Women, according to her, should be given all support, courage, and financial support to allow them to participate effectively in elected positions.
She used the opportunity of the talk show program to call on women to be peace lovers and complement the government and stakeholders in advancing women in leadership positions at the community, ward, district, and regional levels to ensure fair representation in all decision-making processes.
Commenting on the role of IPC, Ma’am Secka said IPC is all about promoting peace in politics and respecting the rule of law, she, therefore, used the occasion to call for more support from development partners and government.

Mustapha Dibba, through Action Aid International The Gambia and UNFPA for advocacy on women’s inclusion at district tribunal court.
Haruna Kuyateh, a media practitioner in Kerewan, and Sulayman Ceesay, Communication Officer of Action Aid TheGambia Juffureh Office made a remarkable comment at the gathering and Jonsaba Jawara called parents to support the educational development of girls because it would provide them the opportunity to partake in decision making.
