Fifteen young people from Banjul recently took part in a day’s training session on solar installation.
The training, funded by the European Union in The Gambia, was held at Crab Island Sustainable Development Centre.
Greenlink Gambia’s operational manager Joren Robert Neher conducted a hands-on tour of the solar system at Crab Island that gave participants a real worldview of how solar energy is harnessed and utilized. Theimmersive experience was said to have deepened their understanding of solar power.
From theory to practice, participants were trained in designing and building a small solar system enabling them to gain valuable skills that they can apply in various settings.
Participant Rohey Charreh spoke about how effective troubleshooting is key to maintaining a reliable solar system.
Led by the experienced Greenlink team, the training has empowered participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely on existing electrical systems and develop a solid understanding of solar energy dynamics for Crab Island Sustainable Development Center.
The project coordinator Ousman Jobe believesthat the Greenlink team’s expertise in solar systems ensures that the training was both informative and practical, providing valuable insights that participants can carry forward in their careers.
