On day two of their outreach engagement to the Executive Coordinators and Regional Governors’ offices, the Public Service Commission (PSC) commissioners headed by the Vice chairman of the Commission, Mr. Musa O. Sanneh on Friday, July 26, 2024, met with the Executive Coordinator, Kanifing Municipality, Mr. Bakary Singhateh and team.
According to the Information Officer of PMO, Lamin B. Darboe, who was with the visiting PSC delegation, both the PSC Vice chairman and Executive Coordinator KM teams discussed critical issues of mutual concern to the two institutions.
The PSC vice chairman Mr. Musa O. Sanneh stated that the meeting was another opportunity for the PSC commissioners and the PMO officers to familiarize themselves with the roles and responsibilities of the offices of the Executive Coordinators as well as to gather first-hand information on pertinent issues, affecting public servants and the operations of government institutions that would require the Commission’s involvement in addressing the situation.
The PSC vice chairman described the meeting as fruitful, interactive and educative. He also informed the KM executive coordinator and team about the purpose of their visit to his office.
Mr. Kemo Conteh, a member of the Public Service Commission in his intervention, explained that the effectiveness of the Executive Coordinator’s office must be based on the needs and aspirations of the communities within the Kanifing Municipality.
“If you want to achieve your institution’s goals, your office needs to have human resource capacity to deliver well. The office of the Executive Coordinator is critical to nation-building,” Mr. Conteh advised the KM executive coordinator.
The Deputy Executive Coordinator of Kanifing Municipality, Mr. Musa Amul Nyassi, assured their office’s commitment to cooperate with the PSC and PMO for the betterment of the country. Mr. Nyassi used the opportunity to call on the councilors within the Kanifing Municipality to come forward and work with the KM Executive Coordinator’s office.
“I want KM councilors to see us as partners in development. When it comes to nation-building, we need to put aside politics and work towards the development of our country,” Mr. Nyassi underlined.
Other speakers at the meeting were the Secretary to the PSC, Mr. AbdoulieJafuneh and the Director of the Management Service Division (MSD) at PMO, Mr. Momodou Bah.
Commissioner Sainabou Ancha Ceesay, Cadet Administrator Nyima Sonko and Private Secretary Fatou Jabbie were in attendance.
