The ministers of Finance and Economics Affairs, Public Service, Trade, and Environment Thursday presented several key documents in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Vice President Mohammed B.S. Jallow.
The Vice President presided over the Cabinetmeeting on behalf of President Adama Barrow, who was out of town, attending the inauguration ceremony of the President re-elect of Mauritania Mohammed Ould Ghazouani.
Seedy Keita, the minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, presented the government’s proposed Duty Waiver Policy. These are various tax and duty concessions available to returning nationals, diplomats, corporations, charitable organizations, sporting bodies, and religious organisations involved in importing household effects, goods, and vehicles.
Baboucarr Boye, minister for Public Service, forwarded the Open Government Partnership (OGP). The OGP was designed to help reformers in government and civil society navigate the OGP process. It includes guidance, examples, best practices, templates, and information on the minimum requirements of all the key moments in a country’s participation in OGP.
He further presented documents adopted by the Commission of Population and Development.
Baboucarr Ousmaila Joof, Minister for Trade, Regional Integration, Employment and Industry presented documentation of the Establishment of the National Employment Technical Committee.
Rohey Jones-Manjang, minister for Environment, presented the National Action Plan to end plastic pollution in The Gambia by 2033.
