Man Docked for ‘Threatening’ to Kill

A certain Momodou Salieu Jallow appeared before the KanifingMagistrates’ Court on an allegation of threatening to kill one Saffiatou Jallow.

Prosecutors say Momodou Salieu on or about 27 July 2024, at Kotu in the Kanifing Municipality, intended to insult, annoy, and threaten Saffiatou with death.

The accused has admitted to uttering certain words to the complainant but he denied the allegation of threatening to kill her.

Meanwhile, the prosecution, led by Inspector I. Sowe, told the court that Saffiatou’s family members were living in a state of fear due to the accused’s death ‘threat’. 

Momodou Salieu was subsequently granted court bail in the sum of D50,000 and must produce two sureties, one of whom must be a family member.

The case, presided over by Magistrate Thomas Touray, resumes August,14th.
