The UDP has launched a fund-raising drive barely two years before Gambians go to the poll to elect their President.
As part of the initiative, the party mobilized over D9M last week at its convention in Barcelona, Spain.
The UDP is looking forward to organizing a fund-raising event in the US, where more money is expected to be donated to the party’s cause, this medium was informed.
The party also has another “strategic” plan to organize fund-raising events at both the constituency and national level.
The UDP spokesperson Almamy Taal described the fund-raising drive as a strategic move to secure the resources needed to successfully mount a campaign for the 2026 general election.
“You cannot wait for the last minute to start raising funds,” he told this reporter.
