Cashup, a Gambian-owned financial technology mobile wallet, has extended its corporate, social responsibility to the BrikamaSports Committee for various aspects of development support.
The signing ceremony was held at the Brikama mini stadium (Boxba).
Cashup has committed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and financial support of D240, 000 in pavilion improvement.
The Managing Director of Cashup, Ebrima Jammeh, emphasized that their support to the Brikama Sports Committee will be extended to teams, registering ownership with the committee and the infrastructure within the sports complex.
“This partnership is a win-win situation for both parties. It’s a milestone development for both Cashup and Brikama mini-stadium. We are committed to making Boxba a modern football ground. We promised to give a modernised face-lift to one of the oldest pavilions in Boxba. We will extend our commitment to all the divisional teams that Brikama has. Those buying the tickets online using our application will be winning prizes monthly from a raffle we would be doing,” CEO Jammeh stated as heoutlined his company’s commitment to the MOU.
Ansumana Camara, secretary general of Brikama Sports Committee, assured his committee’s readiness to do all its financial dealing with the Cashup mobile wallet.
“I will assure you that it is not a mistake for you to choose to partner with BSC. Brikama Boxba is referred to as a threat to entertainment for a very good reason. This will give our mini stadium a face-lift by making renovations to modernize the pavilion. This will protect the spectators from the rain. Everyone in Brikama will embrace this support. The Brikama Sports Committee will manage the responsibility embodied in the memorandum,” he posited.
He said the committee will encourage every spectator to register with Cashup so that they will be using the app to purchase tickets.
“We will do all our team registrations with Cashup mobile wallet, payments of allowances and salaries for our players will also be surely done through Cashup mobile wallet. We have already encouraged all committee members to install the Cashupapplication, and a greater number of members have already done that. So, all financial transactions of Brikama Sports Committee, henceforth, will be done through Cashup, and you are assured of that,” Secretary General Camara emphasized.
Ebrima K.B. Sonko, public relations officer for Brikama Sports Committee, explained that football enthusiasts, using Cashup to buy tickets online, will be given priority at the entry points. “Football fans, who buy tickets through Cashup mobile wallets, will be given a priority gate to ease their entrance,”
