15 Individuals Convicted for Soliciting Customers for Immorality

Magistrate Sallah M’bai on Wednesday convicted 15 individuals for soliciting customers for immoral purposes.

Faith Moses,Kumba Sarr ,Esther Agudos , Joy Rice Steuau , Precious Uwaita,Laveth Ogbonna ,Esther Etim,Egbes Osas ,Favor Osal ,Isoken Sarah , Charity Ofor, Ojeuene Murey , Faith Ibekwe, Mercy Joseph,RuthEffiong, Happiness Chidara,Samira Rose, IfeomaOnyerwe, Charity Anaada Chiawara,Ona Alice, Israel Ruth, Mariama Habeeb ,Chimonye Cynthia, ElisusGodwin Augel,Tiwuwa Francis,Deborah Aribi ,Grace Ebichoy Amhen, Opeyemi Adeshina, Charity Keme,Mariama Jimoh ,Becky Asoka ,Awa Sillah,JoanOsailigua Mathew,Anita Aloha ,MariamaCamara,Obeka Umar ,Amina Umar ,Amie Jambang, Juliet Nafameker and Ojo Loveth were yesterday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court charged with idle and disorderly conduct.

The particulars of the offense stated that on or about 10August 2024, at Serekunda and diverse places in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused and the convicted persons persistently solicited customers at public places for an immoral purpose.
Kumba Sarr, Precious Uwaito, Esther Etim, EgbesOsas, Favor Osal, Isoken Sarah, Charity Ofor,MercyJoseph, Samira Rose, Israel Ruth, Deborah Aribi Grace Ebichoy, Amhen Opeyemi Adeshina, Amina Umar, Happiness Chidara and Mariama Habeeb have all admitted guilt to the charge.

Narrating the facts of the matter, Inspector AmadouBaldeh, prosecuting said a police patrol team arrested Kumba Sarr at Westfield at around 22:00hrs before proceeding to Dippakunda, where 10 of the accused persons were arrested.

Inspector Baldeh narrated that most of the convicts were arrested at Senegambia New Road, KololiTarvern and City Pub in Dippakunda.

Following their plea of guilt and for mitigation, Magistrate M’bai fined each of them D1000 in default to spend a month at the State Central Prison in Banjul. She further warned them that they would be deported if caught again in the same act.

The trials of the remaining accused persons continue.
