Adeline Davies, daughter of late L.V Davies, has appealed for President Adama Barrow’s assistance in recovering his father’s properties in Nigeria.
In an interview with The Voice on Monday, Ms. Davies said she has struggled to recover his father’s properties since 2003 but still no development.
She explained that 8 of them were supposed to benefit from the property but since the demise of their father, they did not inherit a single asset or property.
“We have been following up on the matter for 21 years but it makes no difference. We don’t inherit a single thing from his wealth and his wealth rightfully belongs to us. I wrote to the president’s office twice since last year but still no response. We want to discuss it personally with him and explain our pain to him. I am still appealing to him to assist us to get what belongs to us,” she bemoaned
According to the document presented to this medium, the late Lawyer L.V. has balance monies in his current and savings accounts at Barclays Bank in Nigeria.
“We have all the papers but didn’t inherit anything. We got his property here in The Gambia and shared it but we are still struggling to access his properties in Nigeria. I am the elder daughter, and I’m old. Having this money will help us a lot as we currently don’t have enough money to continue supporting the family.
She added: “This is why I am begging President Barrow to help us get his properties back because 21 years of struggling to gain what rightfully belongs to you is so painful.”
