Meeting the Gambian tourism fraternities in a all-around gathering, the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, on Tuesday commenced a two-day dialogue with the tourism stakeholders across the country at a forum held in the Paradise Suites, Kololi,
The ongoing dialogue brought together different members from tour operators, Gambia Hotel Association, TTOG, hoteliers, Juice Pressers Association, tourist drivers association, artists, festival and event planners, Bird Watchers Association, Denton Bridge Boat Association, tour Guide Association, Craft Vendors, Chef Association and among other stakeholders from tourism, culture, and hospitality industry.
The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Dialogue with Tourism Stakeholders forum was used to address the stakeholders by the Minister, Honourable Abdoullai Jobe.
Minister Jobe made a PowerPoint presentation to show the situation of the Tourism Development Area (TDA), especially the tourism facilities in Senegal strip, before and at present.
He explained the condition he meant them which was appalling in some areas but with the aid of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard) there are changes in some areas which he still challenged stakeholders to improve upon.
However, after the opening remarks of the Minister and presentation, the floor was opened for general discussion on his presentation, the second section of the forum was used to discuss the post-COVID-19 service, quality management, destination marketing products, diversification, entertainment, arts, and culture and capacity building.
However, stakeholders commended Minister Jobe and as well applauded the Gambia Tourism Board for a job well done concerning the development of the sector in the past few years.
