Gambia’s current situation is a result of poor governance, Ebrima Bah claims

A political activist has claimed that the current situation of the Gambia is due to poor governance 

Ebrima Sorri Bah in an interview with this reporter said Gambians deserve to be happy due to the suffering they endured under the former regime’s 22 years of brutal governance.

Meanwhile, “We voted for change and development but President Barrow failed to serve the citizens as they wished.”

According to him, the country’s economy is very poor among other burning issues in the country, noting that the government took huge loans on behalf of the citizens and in the end, the taxpayers carry the burden. 

He noted that the poverty rate is increasing because of the heavy debt, and “The country cannot prosper if the debt is too high thus the country is small for taking huge debt.”

He lamented the complaints of the masses over the high price of basic commodities the government neglected the issues and the youths were exposed to drugs which resulted in rampant attacks and robbery. The unemployment rate is high which leads to you embarking on traveling to European countries through back way.

However, he said the 2026 election will be a tough one because it is going to be a survival of the fittest, as it will “determine the future of our youths.”
