The Regional Disaster Management Committee (RDMC) under the supervision of the Regional Governor Office of the North Bank Region and stakeholders are busy with data collection on recent windstorms and flash floods that hit the region.
Lamin Saidy, Regional Disaster Management Coordinator for NBR disclosed that all seven districts in the region were affected according to the initial assessment report while over 100 households were affected.
The initial report disclosed that a 9-year-old girl and her mother sustained an injury at Pallen Fula due to a windstorm and were treated by health personnel.
All communities assessed include Pallen Fula and Sinchu Pallenin Sabach Sanjal hit by the windstorm while others were hit by flash flooding.
Saidy said the assessment indicated that 12 households displaced are currently sheltered by their neighbors and relatives.
Meanwhile, the government through the NDMA is leading coordination efforts on resource mobilization for the affected people.
