Mobile phone thief arraigned

Modou Lamin Drammeh who is charged with stealing some mobile phones and accessories from Gibriel Sowe’s house, was arraigned on Wednesday before the Kanifing Magistrate Court, presided over by Magistrate Thomas Touray.

The Accused, Modou Lamin Drammeh, has since denied the allegation against him. He was charged with two counts of offence, including breaking and stealing.

In the particulars of his offence, Modou Lamin Drammeh, on count one, did on or about the 25th day of June 2024 at DippaKunda around 04:00 hours onwards in the Kanifing Municipal Council break into the house of Gibriel Sowe with intent to commit a felony. And on count two, the particular stated that Modou Lamin Drameh, on the same date and place stole Two Samsung Mobile Phones valued at D5,000 and D7,000, a Techno smartphone valued at D6,000, Two simple phones valued at D1,000, Fiscal cash of 5,500 CFA equivalent to D1,980, Itel smartphone valued at D5,000, Smartwatch valued at D3,000, 1XR iPhone valued at D16,000, Power Bank valued at D1,500, Smartwatch valued at D1,000, Ear pod valued D300, Two black colour hang bag containing cloths but value unknown – all totaling D45,080 being the properties of Gribiel Sowe, Alasana Sowe, Ebrima Sowe, and Abdoulie Sowe, thereby committed an offence.

However, the accused denied the charges against him, and the case was adjourned to today, September 5th, 2024, for the hearing of evidence from witnesses.
