The Gambia Police Force warns that all vehicles impounded since the start of its operation clear the road must be collected by regularising the status of the vehicles in a due period.
During the police operation, vehicles parked on the main highways were impounded from various locations in the greater Banjul area. However, some vehicle owners have since failed to regularize and collect their vehicles from the police.
The police formally notified in a press release that vehicle owners are mandated to fulfill requirements to collect their seized vehicles.
“The Gambia Police Force hereby informs the public that all vehicles currently impounded for the past six months, since the commencement of Operation Clear Main Roads and Highways at various locations—including the Kanifing Traffic Unit, Brusubi Traffic Unit, and Brikama Traffic Unit—must be regularized and collected by their owners. Owners are required to fulfill the requirements and retrieve their vehicles from police custody,” the police presser informed on Tuesday, 10 September 2024.
The deadline for collection has been extended by two weeks, now set for September 24, 2024.
It warned: “This press release serves as a formal notice. Failure to comply with the extended deadline will result in the auctioning of the vehicles.”
The Gambia Police Force anticipates the cooperation and commitment of the general public to adhere to traffic regulations, ensuring a smoother and safer traffic flow for all.
