Happapa FC suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat in the hands of Junction Bi in the ongoing Serekunda West Sports Development Association’s summer Nawattan on Sunday, 15th September 2024.
Abdourahman Bah opened the scoring for Junction Bi in the 29th minute of the first half. The goal was enough to separate the two teams for the entire half.
Muhammed S. Bayo restored parity for Happapa FC in the 1st minute of the second half after a beautiful assist by SulaymanMarena. Only for Ebrima Drammed to score a well-taken goal for Junction Bi in the 19th minute into the second half with club captain Ousman Sillah, providing the assist.
Omar Sarjo Jallow, the head coach of Junction Bi, explained that Happapa is no stranger to his team. “This is the third time we have played against them. In 2019 and last year, they defeated us, but this time, we had our revenge because we had prepared for this game by making sure we were the first team to score and go on to win.”
For his part, Abdoulie Camara, the head coach of Happapa FC, lamented his side’s sloppy defensive setup adding “Nonetheless, we still have two matches to play. So, I encourage the boys to go back to the field and work hard for it because we need to work for it.”
Junction Bi is currently on 6 points after two matches. HappapaFC lost one of its two games played.
