“From the course of history, we have drawn the wisdom of mutual respect and common development. In our present cooperation, we stand together, facing challenges hand in hand. Today, our medical team, equipped with both skills and compassion, has crossed the ocean to bring health and warmth to our friends in The Gambia,” she said.
More so, she said, the Chinese Association, as one of the bridges connecting the two nations, continues to play an irreplaceable role that not only fosters cultural exchange but also demonstrates the power of unity and mutual support in crucial moments.
“In the upcoming free clinic, we will provide assistance to those in need with professional expertise and attentive service. We believe that every consultation and every treatment is a heartfelt transmission of China-Gambia friendship and a closer bond between the hearts of our two peoples,” she added.
Cai Guiyang, the captain of the China medical team highlighted that the team comprises medical personnel from various departments covering neurology, general surgery, gynecology, pediatric surgery, orthopedics, Traditional Chinese medicine, critical care medicine, anesthesia, and ultrasound, each bringing a wealth of expertise.
He noted that they are going to places outside of hospitals in The Gambia, hoping that more Gambian people can receive professional health services from Chinese doctors.
According to him, in recent times he has visited the department multiple times to see the serious, rigorous, and standardized work style they are doing, and “also felt their friendliness and enthusiasm towards us. So, the China medical team is pleased to provide high-quality health services to the good friends of the Gambia Immigration Department.”
The Deputy Director of Gambia Immigration Department (GID), Hulay Jallow, thanked the Chinese medical team for taking up such noble initiatives to test the GID staff.
“Your decision to offer free medical checkups to our immigration officers is a testament to the strong partnership between our nations. Health is a cornerstone of human productivity and your willingness to contribute to the well-being of our officers shows not only medical expertise, but also your shared commitment to humanitarian services,” she expressed.
