The women tribunal court member at the Lower District Court resident of Medina Kanuma, Lower Nuimi has described women inclusion and involvement at district tribunal as important, noting it contributed to the women empowerment drive and fair dispensation of justice delivery.
Fatou Manneh, Women Tribunal Member, in an interview with The Voice, recently during a media outing to gauge the opinion and impact of women tribunal court member in providing confidence for women to express themselves at tribunal court sitting.
Madam Manneh thanked Action Aid International The Gambia for the strong advocacy on women’s inclusion and hailed the Kerewan Area Council for the appointment of women in all seven districts.
Women’s inclusion at tribunal court, she affirmed, contributes greatly to building and strengthening women’s confidence in facing the tribunal to discuss issues affecting them.
She reiterated that the inclusion demonstrated a high commitment to enhance social cohesion and promoting peace-building initiatives in the household.
Meanwhile, she called on parents to promote girls’ education and protection, noting that it will contribute to their empowerment drive and enhance women participation in decision making.
She, therefore, hailed members of the Lower Nuimi District Tribunal for their support of women’s empowerment and their support in providing fair dispensation of justice.
