The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has resumed the issuance of driver’s licenses, stated a press release from the Office of the IGP.
This announcement came after almost six months of lack of availability of this vital document to both Gambians and residents.
Recently, Gambians and non-Gambians resident within the country voiced out their frustrationsover the unavailability of key national documents.
The police said on Wednesday night that the driver’s license production has resumed.
“The Gambia Police Force wishes to inform the general public that the production of driver’s licenses has recommenced,” the police said.
The police called on applicants, who applied between March and June, to collect their driver’s licenses.
“Applicants, who applied for a driver’s license between March and June 2024, are hereby advised to collect their licenses at the GPF licensing outlets in Banjul and Kanifing,” advised the police.
Meanwhile, the printing and issuance of the Gambia’s national identity card and residential permit remain uncertain.
