Accused denies fraud charges against him

Musa Jallow, yesterday, Monday 23rd September 2024, appeared before His Worship Magistrate K.B Sambou of the Brikama Magistrates Court on charges of Obtaining Money By False Pretence on the 23rd of September, 2024.

In a narration, the prosecution said Musa Jallow did sometime in the year 2016 at Pacholi Village, West Coast Region in the Republic of The Gambia by false pretence and with the intent to defraud, obtained Six Hundred Thousand Dalasi (D600,000) from Mamadou Muctarr Jallow with the representation that he legally owned a plot of land, situated at Pacholi Village measuring 50mX50m for sale, which representation he knew or believed to be false or untrue, thereby committed an offence.

Musa Jallow denied the charges against him and was granted bail in the sum of D800,000 with two Gambian sureties who will submit their ID card/passport. 

However, the case has been adjourned to 28th October 2024 to allow the prosecution officer to secure his witnesses.
