26 people in DLEAG net for Prohibited Drug trafficking

The Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) has arrested twenty-six who were found in possession of prohibited drugs and were intercepted last week in various places across the country.

According to the DLEAG statement Muhammed Mustapha Sowe, 50, a Senegalese businessman was arrested at JenoiCheckpoint on 20th September 2024 at around 19:00 hours GMT onward with ten blocks of suspected cannabis resin and four pellets of cocaine that were concealed inside a black plastic bag and in his pants inside his private part.

A 24-year-old Prince Johnson, Sierra Leonean was arrested at Westfield by Kanifing DLEAG on the 19th of September 2024 at around 21:37 hours GMT onward with 1 sachet of suspected Kush concealed in a used tissue paper packet”.

Sainey Jawla, 22 years from Jinack Island was arrested at Barra Ferry Terminal on the 20th of September 2024 at around 07:14 hours GMT onward with 3 big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa in cement papers and placed inside a multicoloured nylon bag.

The national narcotic agency also said that a 39 years old Tijan Faye, a resident of Kololi was arrested by CTI DLEAG Station on the 19th of September 2024 at around 20:50 hours GMT onward with some quantities of suspected cocaine and Moly in a blue and red coloured plastic bag.

Eva King, a Ghanaian residing at Kololi was also arrested by Senegambia DLEAG Station on the 19th September 2024 at around 13:25 hours GMT onward with 8 wraps of suspected cocaine which was concealed in white plastic bag.

Mustapha Badjie, 22, a resident of Banyaka and a driver by profession was arrested by Brikama DLEAG Station on the 19th of September 2024 at around 13:00 hours GMT with 1 medium bundle of suspected cannabis sativa which was concealed in an empty white rice bag”. 

However, other people arrested in different places, times, and with different types of suspected prohibited drugs included Modou Njie, 25 a resident of Bansang, Muhammed Ceesay, 25 a resident of Bijilo, Bakary Ndulla, a resident of FarafenniWarf Town, Yusupha Bah, 24 a resident of Bondali, AbdoulieDrammeh, 24 residing in Dippa Kunda, and Basiru Jarju, 31 and a resident of Dimbaya.

Meanwhile, all the suspects were taken into custody while further investigations into their respective matters continued.
