3D Gam and 3D Global (Decision Determine Destiny) a registered Charity Foundation in The Gambia committed to improving the lives of the disadvantaged people within communities, especially in rural Gambia on Sunday, 29th September 2024, commemorated its seven years of service in The Gambia at YMCA hall along MDI Road, Kanifing.
Alasan Bah, The Homeland General Country Director of 3D Gam stated that the Foundation was founded in 2017 by a Gambian in the UK and the purpose of this foundation is to provide support to disadvantaged people in communities in different facets of life.
“We have been doing tremendously well in terms of helping people in various sectors such as education, health, agriculture, and economics, too,” he highlighted.
Over the years, he said, they have done community outreach in the length and breadth of this country to educate people about their human rights.
Therefore, “We believe as a nation aspiring to live in an equal society, it’s important that people are educated about their rights and responsibilities,” he added.
Bartholomew Bartha Marong, the Director of National Records Services said 3D is dedicated to saving lives by complementing the government’s efforts.
“3D is an NGO, but the government cannot do all, and charity begins at home, so in whatever means we can support, we do that,” he said.
He furthermore highlighted the negative impact drugs are having on the lives of the youth especially ’Kush’ and therefore called on all philanthropists at home and abroad to give support to 3D in what they are doing because they are supporting humanity.
Hon. Demba Ali Jawo the former Minister of Information and Communication who graced the occasion, commended Gam 3D for coming this far with all their contributions to humanity.
“While I was a Minister of Information, he contacted me about the idea and of course, I encouraged him to go ahead with it (because of the lofty idea that he indicated and the rest is history,” he said.
“Celebrating the 7th anniversary of 3D GAM, a UK-based, non-political and non-religious organization to provide social and humanitarian support, particularly in areas of education, health, and socio-economic development,” he noted.
