A current prisoner at Mile II facing a fresh charge of burglary and stealing at the Bundung Magistrate Court yesterday requested bail which was turned down by the presiding Magistrate.

Modou Lamin Drammeh was charged with burglary and stealing, activities carried out at Thomas Touray’s house from 2 am onward but when he appeared before Magistrate DawdaTouray of Bundung Magistrate Court where he was arraigned, on the 24th September 2024 he pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The accused said he didn’t break into Thomas Touray’s house while he also denied stealing a phone valued at D5,000 and a hard drive valued at D300.

In the Magistrate’s ruling, he recorded both counts and adjourned the matter till October 2024 for the court to proceed with hearing the PW1(prosecution witness one) on both counts.

However, the accused requested bail but the court did not grant him bail thus he is currently at Mile II and has different ongoing cases at Banjul and Kanifing Courts.
