The police on Monday slammed false publication and broadcasting charges againstthe Managing Director and Editor-In-Chief of The Voice newspaper, Mr. Musa Sheriff, before detaining him for almost seven hours.
Reporter Momodou Justice Darboe was also asked to remain at the police HQ for almost eight hours after reporting there on bail on Monday.
Mr. Sheriff was later granted a D250,000police bail.
Messrs Sheriff and Darboe were ordered to report to the police HQ today.
It would be recalled that the duo was invited to the police HQ on Thursday evening following The Voice’s publication about President Adama Barrow’s reported exit strategy.
The report quoted reports that quoted NPP officials as saying that Mr. Barrow had chosen Q-Group’s Chairman Muhammed Jah as his successor come 2026 general election.
Darboe was detained for two nights and subsequently released on bail after been charged with the offence of false publication and broadcasting.
