Two individuals were on Tuesday arraigned before Magistrate M. Faal of the Kanifing Magistrates’Court on charges of possession of prohibited drugs contrary to Section 35(2)(a) of the Drug Control Amendment Act (2014).
According to court records, Aki Sylva and Musa Jammeh were apprehended by officers of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG)on or about the 17 April 2024, at Latrikunda German in the Kanifing Municipality with prohibited drugs.
Aki is alleged to have been found in possession of 68g and 248mg of Cannabis Sativa while Musa was allegedly apprehended with 20g and 228mg of Cannabis Sativa.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge. Aki was granted bail in the sum of D100, 000 while Musa was given a D75,000 bail.
The case resumes on October,9th for thecommencement of the trial.
