President Adama Barrow has sponsored the reconstruction of Serrekunda Central Mosque, one of the most accommodating mosques in the community. It is located around SerrekundaSandika Market and adjacent to the Bundung road, The Voice can report.

In an executive interview with The Voice, SaineyBabucarr Jobe, the Alkalo of the community, it is said that the reconstruction of the Mosque is at the request of the community elders.

He added that the Mosque was dilapidated and the decision to reconstruct it came when President Adama Barrow visited and joined the community to observe Friday’s Prayer recently.

“The reconstruction of the Mosque project is a year’s plan and fully sponsored by the President. Therefore, they don’t need any support from individuals, private companies, or entities, and GIGO Construction is contracted for reconstruction,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, Matarr Jobe informed this medium that the Fridays and the 5 daily prayers will take place at the family compound of the founding family of Serekunda, opposite the mosque.

“We will be building a makeshift mosque opposite. That’s the family compound of the founding family of Serekunda. That’s where we will be observing the Friday prayers and five times daily prayers until the construction is completed,” he noted.
