The managing director of The Voice newspaper Mr. Musa Sheriff and the paper’s reporter Momodou Justice Darboewere on Tuesday ordered to report to the police HQ in Banjul today.
Since last week, the duo had been going in and out of the police HQ. The police charged them with false publication and broadcasting, a charge they categorically denied.
Darboe was detained for two nights whilst Sheriff has been detained for several hours as he reported to police since Monday.
The arrest and detention of the men followed the publication of a report in which NPP officials were quoted as saying that President Adama Barrow had settled down on Q-Group Chairman MuhammedJah as his successor in the 2026 general election.
