Reports reaching The Voice intimated that the GABECE results of 483 candidates could not be accounted for due to missing CASS marks or unresolved issues.
Reports also said 12 candidates had their resultswithheld.
This paper has learned that 30,419 candidates registered for the 2024 GABECE of which, 29,936 candidates’ results were processed and graded, representing 98.4%.
According to the GABECE results released on Friday, out of 29,936 students’ results processed, 29,324 students sat at least one subject on the exam, and among the number of students who sat, 59.4% were girls.
The results have shown a nationwide increase from 13,626 in 2023 to 14,761 in 2023. The results also showed that the number has increased in all regions.
“Looking at the distribution by gender, the number of candidates with an aggregate of 42 or less has consistently increased for girls from 2022 to 2024. Moreover, there are more girls than boys with an aggregate score of 42 or less over the last three years. Nationwide, this indicator has increased in 2024 by 0.6% point compared to 2023 and 2022,”stated a press release.
According to the release, the number of passes has increased in the core subjects in 2024 compared to 2023, noting that a similar pattern is observed in the volume of students with credit marks in the core subjects.
“Remarkable increase of the number of students with aggregate 6 in 2024 compared to 2023 and 2022. Out of the 88 students with an aggregate of 6 in 2024, 32 are boys and 56 are girls. Among the 88 students with an aggregate of 6, 33 (38%) are from public schools and 55 (63%) from private,”added the release.
