The Secretary-General and Head of Civil Service extolled President Adama Barrow on Monday for the support his government continued to render to the Ministry of Public Service since its establishment in 2022.

The Secretary-General, Salimatta E. T. Touray, presiding over a two-day validation workshop of the Ministry of Public Services’s strategic plan 2024-2028, a workshop held at MetzyHotel and Resort in Kololi, lamented that the strategic plan formulation process was not an easy task, and before this validation, the strategic plan went through both internal and external rigorous consultation works.

She expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders especially, the reviewers who provided technical support throughout the strategic plan formulation processes.

“We appreciate the crucial role you (reviewers) played during the process. Similar sentiments go to the staff of the Ministry, who without their immense contribution and support we would not have checked this box in our work plan,” SG Touray informed.

However, she assured stakeholders of her office of unflinching support for the effective implementation of the outlined strategic priorities.

According to her, the strategic plan outlined a comprehensive framework for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Public Service, while ensuring that government services delivered to citizens are of the highest quality.

She went on to say that the strategic plan aligned with the goals of the Recovery Focused National Development Plan (RF-NDP) 2023–2027 and focuses on transforming the Public Service into a dynamic, efficient, and citizen-focused institution while emphasizing that it also includes a risk management framework, and a monitoring plan to ensure accountability and transparency.
