Bilbabo FC held Cambel Town to a goalless draw after both sides failed to break the deadlock in regulation time.
The match was played at the Serekunda West mini stadium in the ongoing Serekunda West Sports Development Organisation’s summer Nawattan on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
During hard-fought regulations, the two teams were not able to put up a decider.
After the game, The Voice Newspaper sounded the opinion of Francis Gomez, the head coach of Bilbabo FC, who said that their table standing is critical because both teams are fighting for a spot in the next round.
Both Cambel Town FC and Bilbabo FC are on 7 points as the table stands.
“Cambel Town always tell me that they will get revenge, and win against, but I tell them that that they will never win and that’s why the game was very tough,” he stated.
According to him, his opponents use all their tactics to win Cambel Town, but it does not work.
Ismaila Sonko, head coach of Cambel Town, in a post-match interview with this reporter, said “It was a fair contest although my boys crafted many scoring chances but squandered all.”
He encourages his boys to continue working hard for the second round because they are second in their pool.
Both teams are on 7 points, but Bilbabo FC leads the table with the goal difference, followed by Cambel Town FC.
