Njaka Nicole’s lone goal was enough for Blackpool FC to win the game against Kanifing Layout FC at the Serekunda West mini stadium on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Njaka Nicol put his team in the celebration mood, and in the 65th minute, he sealed an important win for Blackpool FC and prevented relegation.
Samuel Leo Manga, Blackpool’s head coach, said the game was a do-or-die game because Blackpool FC has been one of the biggest teams in Serekunda West Nawettan for eight years now.
“It would be a very big embarrassment if the team had to be relegated so easily. That’s why we prepared mentally to come and fight so hard and win the game to avoid relegation,” he told The Voice Newspaper in his post-match reaction.
He expressed discontent with the officiating of the match as he claimed to be denied a clear goal and a penalty not awarded to his side.
Baboucarr Mbaye, the head coach of Kanifing Layout, refused a post-match interview with the press.
Both the two teams accumulated four points out of 4 games.
