Jokadou Development Association recently supported students” education and healthcare services in the North Bank Region with an amount of D200,000.00 at a presentation ceremony held at the Jokadou District Assembly event in Kuntair,
The event was witnessed by different high dignitaries which included alkalolu, executive members, and others.
The donated amount is meant to complement education development and the supply of drugs to health facilities.
Alpha Sey, the association’s chairperson, underscored the importance of this while explaining that D100,000 was donated to Kuntair Senior Secondary School to support its science lab and D50,000 each to Kuntair Minor Health and Jimfatma Health Centers at Kissimajaw of Jokadou.
He said the donation demonstrated an enhancement in the teaching and learning of science subjects, noting that it would encourage both students and parents to continue their educational pursuits and, by extension, meet requirements of WAEC.
Chairperson Sey used the moment to thank members and people of Jokadou for their morale and financial support in accelerating development objectives.
He disclosed that since the establishment of the association they have drilled five boreholes worth over D1.6 million to ensure the population consumed quality and safe drinking water.
Chief Alpha Mariam Khan of Jokadou described the presentation of cash to Kuntair Senior Secondary School, Jimfatma Major Health and Kuntair Minor Health Centre as a testimony of the association’s commitment to the development of Jokadu. He said education and health are key in promoting human development and reassured them of the district authority’s fullest support.
Governor Lamin Saidykhan hailed the association for the giant initiative of giving back to the communities in the form of development projects which has demonstrated solidarity and unity among the people.
Seedy Kinteh, Manager of Giboro Custom Post said the donation of cash by Jokadou demonstrated mutual understanding to support the development needs of the people within the district.
Mayoro Leigh alkalo of Jamagen chairman of JokadouCouncil of Elders and Aja Haddy Gaye Women tribunal court member in Jokadou all spoke extensively about the association.
