Mam Samba Barry and Pa Malick Sambou were on Tuesday arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on allegation of conspiracy to commit a felony and stealing.
The duo is alleged to have conspired amongst themselves in March of 2013 to steal 698 empty gas bottles valued at D849, 050. The properties allegedly belonged to one Sheikh AmhedTijan Ndongo.
Mam Samba and Pa Malick were also alleged to have wilfullyand unlawfully damaged motor vehicle marked Benz [Taxi Baggas] with the registration number BJL 1227H valued atD400, 000 and a motor vehicle marked Benz [Taxi Baggas] with the registration number BJL 1531M of unknown value.The property, according to the prosecution, belonged to Shiekh Ahmed Tijan Ndongo.
They denied the charges and the matter was, as a result, adjourned to October 24th, for hearing
Inspector Jallow represented the Inspector General of Police (IGP) whilst the accused persons were unrepresented.
