Tababa FC defeated Tigers FC in the ongoing Serekunda West Development Organisation’s Summer Nawatta on Tuesday, 15th October 2024.
Tababi FC fought for the game to avoid relegation by giving it all out against Tigers FC.
Ebrima Jammeh’s early goal in the 50-minute was enough to give advantage to Tababi FC for the entire regulation versus Tigers FC to prevent relegation.
Alpha Bah, the head coach of Tababi FC, in an interview with this reporter after the encounter, said the victory is their first win for this year’s Nawattan.
“Tigers FC is a big team in Serekunda West Park. Winning against them is a great result. We have been trying so hard, but today, we had a victory,” he said.
He thanked his boys for putting up a great performance to prevent the team from relegation.
Musa Sanyang, the head coach of Tigers FC, said they came to collect the 3 points as usual, but they eventually lost against a very determined Tababi FC side.
“Now we are focusing on the next round because that’s a much more difficult stage. We will prepare for the knockout and continue working harder to train well,” he stated.
Tigers Football Club finished the group stage with 7 points, while Tababi FC finished with 4 points.
