The Gambia Football Federation Women’s Football coordinators has started tour to women’s football clubs in the first and second divisions of the GFF league.
“The Gambia Football Federation Women’s Football coordinators Philomena Jatta and Angelick S Mendy on Monday 20th October kicked off a familiarisation tour to the women’s football clubs in the GFF first and second division leagues,” the Federation stated in a release on Tuesday, 22 October 2024.
According to the body, the tour will take them to all training grounds across the country ahead of the 2024/25 league season.
GFF said the tour is geared towards gathering information about female football clubs across the country.
“The familiarization tour is meant to avail the women’s football coordinators first-hand information about women’s competition ahead of the season commencement and is expected to last until the 8th November 2024,”the GFF stated.
The country’s Football Federation continues, “The tour will further avail the two coordinators the opportunity to interact with the coaching staff, and players and understand the needs and requirements of the teams and to identify areas that can be improved upon to enhance the effectiveness of the clubs.”
The visit will also provide opportunities for stakeholders to engage with the team so that challenges and areas of improvement can be spotted.
“During the tour, questionnaires will be given out to players and the coaching staff for an evaluation of each training session. The tour team will visit two clubs per day,” it added.
