The Gambia Football Federation has allocated one million dalasis for the construction of a dressing room for the newly rehabilitated Gunjur Niamina football field.
The construction of a dressing room at the Nyamina football field in Gunjur has been officially initiated as the Alkalo of Gunjur, Dembo Darboe, laid the foundation stone on Wednesday 23 October 2024.
The Alkalo advised the community youth to remain united and contribute to the labor efforts to expedite the project’s progress.
The youth of the village had come out in numbers to grace and embrace the opportunity collectively.
The funding will be disbursed to the Gunjur Sports Committee through the West Coast Region Football Association, which is mandated to oversee the execution and management of the project.
Dembo Touray’s led Sports Committee has established a project coordinating committee comprising construction, finance, and development experts, contractors, and the ward councillor to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
The Football Federation has entrusted the Gunjur Sports Committee with the project’s execution to prevent delays, as the field has been identified as one of the venues to host matches for the upcoming GFF League season in November.
Dembo F. Touray, the President of the Gunjur Sports Committee, pledged the committee’s full commitment to the successful implementation of the project to the GFF.
