Future Star FC booked a place in the ongoing wave-sponsored knockout preliminary rounds of Serekunda West Sports Development Association’s summer Nawattan on Thursday, October 24th, 2024.
Both teams put up a strong fight to pave their way through after some scoring opportunities.
Dembo Njie’s 27-minute first half was enough to secure a scintillating victory for Future Star FC.
Nelson Sylva, Future Star’s head coach, first expressed his appreciation to his players and technical staff for their commitment to the cause.
“Junction Bi FC is an excellent team, so this game is a determining factor to our round 16. Had we lost this game, it may bring down the morals of the team, which is to compete against any opponents. We are here to achieve something. We have yet to concede a goal since the start of the season. We have a very steady defence line.
In a Nawanttan, if you don’t have the correct defence, it may affect your team. That’s why, for us, we make it so our defines line is steady and they understand each other very well,” he reacted in a post-match interface.
Ebrima Barry, the head coach of Junction, did not talk to the press, citing a complicated emotional composure.
